We are in the small lull in the summer where we aren’t right next to a tiki convention getting ready (check out Delandtiki.com to see what we have been up to!) so its time for me to start slamming some new things into the vintage shop. There is so much to get through that it’s not the nice and neat collections I like to put together- it is more like a vintage crazy free for all while I get through all the stuff I have accumulated in the last couple months. Lots of good bargains and investment pieces alike, and everything comes with the best offer option! Always free shipping and plenty more coming next week!
Next up- tons more women’s wear, shoes, mens, and then finally oodles of vintage housewares!
I’ve actually gotten a lot more on than I thought. It all becomes a blur of wildly patterned fabric after the first dozen or so! Here are some new items fresh to the shop plus a couple I have taken way better pictures of and relisted.
In trying to get all the ladies fashion listed that I have, I neglected a very large stack (and growing) vintage shoes. Next post it will be vintage for your feet week!
As I’ve slowly switched around my approach to the vintage biz, going from roll the dice auctions to a more well curated online vintage shop, one of the things I have wanted to do is have sections of my store that repeat clients can count on to find staple vintage pieces that can work easily to any style wardrobe. Since we are a mere couple weeks from the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender it seems like the perfect time to debut the first of many.
Being a Floridian I can only ever count on it being cold enough any given winter for a decent sweater set. There are many years that the heavy jacket never sees the light of day. For those of you in less
hellishly humid tropical locales, you actually get to wear these in the fall and spring too. I didn’t always pick up every vintage sweater I stumbled across, since the flashiest ones were the ones that attracted bidders, but I’d like this section of the shop to be a place where my customers can come and know that there are many vintage pieces to choose from. I spend months sometimes trying to find the perfect sweater to match a vintage dress, so this is a pretty neat shortcut when you have the fashion but want to be ready for a chilly night. I will also be adding some of my husband’s hand carved custom sweater clips with a big discount if you buy a sweater and a custom clip. Pretty neato!
I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to getting on items for you Rockabilly guys and gals and the big weekend coming up. I will be out there too so I know the wardrobe planning that is taking place this week! Next an update on the other great items I am listing, and then we will be moving into the Go-Go 60′s with a stack of stuff headed for the Mod Shop!
After an enormous clearance sale and clean out of the ol’ vintage closet, it was finally time for me to make room for some new stock in the June-Cleavage shop. I’ve decided to break things into collections, mostly for my own amusement, but my choices in merchandise tends to run in certain themes.
This one today is a no brainer as we have a “No Tiki Left Behind” policy at the Tanner household, and that extends to any and all vintage Aloha wear. I know the fine souls that wear a lot of this stuff, and its getting close to the Hukilau and the kick-off of great tiki events all over the country this summer. There is no better way to get ready for that than to add all the Hawaiian garb to the top of the que.
All these items will be posted to Ebay within the next 24 hours, although in the next few months I will be slowly building a presence of Etsy too. Never too many places to let people know what cool stuff you are ready to part with. There will be a Men’s Hawaiian update this week along with a bump up of anything and everything I might have that people going to Viva Las Vegas might want to strut around. We will be out there this year too (woohoo!) so it would be really neat to see someone wearing something I have sold!
I am in a frenzy this week taking pictures of the hundreds of items I have put aside for the shop. There will be a lot of clothes but I decided to start with some special items I have scored the last few months.
This is just the start to a ton of items coming online, and then finally a start to more regular features here. Hard to blog about life when you are buried in a sea of old clothes. I am ready to kick off yet another very vintage year!
I thought now was the time to list some fabulous gifts for my modern loving fans. Many of these are things I have collected over the years but with 2 little people running around I can let some of my nicer things go to homes where they might be safer! Because modern is precious but hard to explain to a 2 year old! Some of these are auctions too- so you have a chance to get some good bargains.
There will be some more housewares up this week, and then I will tackle all my vintage kids and baby stuff. Be sure to check back for updates on my items, there will be plenty of great stuff to choose from this Holiday season!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! That is what it might look like if I actually cooked Thanksgiving dinner, but lucky for me my mom still helms the big feast so that left the last couple days with lots of time for me to add things to the shop and even add more auctions for quick sale! So enjoy the big day, stuff yourself silly, and when its time to start shopping for the other big day coming up (I won’t say it till this blessedly non commercial holiday is over) check out my listings. There will be tons of goodies in the days ahead!
Things are being added fast and furious in the shop, and here are some of the new additions. Lots of coats ready for the season, and some dresses that can’t be beat. Be sure to check out all my listings because some of the older items are being switched to auctions- so you have to act fast but you might snag a great bargain!
This week will be housewares- because we do that around here too! There will be tons for the vintage fan on your Christmas list, I can’t wait to show them off!
More from the stack ready and fresh to market! It is supposed to be a beautiful and breezy afternoon tomorrow so I will be taking pictures of winter coats on a warm Florida fall day. Some gems in this batch, but I like all this stuff (or I wouldn’t have gotten it!)
Finally digging through the stack of vintage and pulled out some of my favorite ladies pieces first. A mixed bag for sure, but all pieces that would fun and wearable additions to your wardrobe.
I have more ladies wear to list this week then it will be a pile of vintage coats for those of you already getting chilly!
